This Category Management training course, delivered by Pass Procurement, will provide attendees with an understanding of the role of  Category Management in strategic procurement. Why use it, what it involves and how to develop a category strategy.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Define what category management is and explain its role in strategic procurement
  • Describe the category management cycle and key tools (e.g. category maps, opportunity analysis, Kraljic matrix)
  • Understand the importance of market analysis, stakeholder engagement, and supplier relationship management
  • Recognise how category management supports modern priorities (social value, sustainability, innovation)
  • Identify how to start or enhance a category strategy
