The majority of LUPC’s members are contracting authorities which are subject to the public procurement regulations. The aim of this page is to provide one place where members can find all information relating to procuring under the regulations, covering both the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Regulations 2024.
Procurement Act 2023
The Procurement Act 2023 will come into force on 24 February 2025, delayed from the original implementation date of 28 October 2024, and replaces the current Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The delay allows the new UK government to produce a new National Procurement Policy Statement that clearly sets out its priorities for public procurement in support of its missions. More information is available in the Procurement Act 2023 Statement, 12 September 2024
The new regulations will have a significant impact on the way our Public Sector members tender/contract with their key suppliers for goods, services and works.
The Act aims to simplify the procurement process, increase transparency and to support SMEs in tendering for contracts.
