EAUC, the Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education, has announced the finalists for the Green Gown awards which celebrate innovative and inspiring sustainability work taking place in universities and colleges.  After a tough judging session, the applicants have been shortlisted to 74 finalists across 12 categories, three of which are LUPC members.

The University of Greenwich makes the shortlist in two different categories:

  1. Under Benefitting Society for its Innocence Project London: providing students with opportunities to review and investigate cases for convicted individuals who have maintained their innocence but have exhausted the criminal appeals process.
  2. Under Student Engagement for the University’s Eco Team: a collaborative student and staff group that co-creates positive sustainability impact through projects it conceives and delivers.

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is also shortlisted in two different categories:

  1. Under Campus health, food and drink: LSE has adapted their catering to offer more plant-based options.
  2. Under Student Engagement for LSE’s Plastic Free campaign:  engaging with more than 750 students and staff to jointly deliver 25 Green Impact projects, reducing single use plastic.

The University of Westminster (UoW) is shortlisted under Campus health, food and drink: UoW has focused on reducing energy, water consumption and waste in catering.

Congratulations to all three of our members on making it as finalists!
