How do you know if a supplier is financially stable, reliable, and able to deliver what you need? This engaging 2-hour session, for full members of LUPC, will show how to use financial information to make smarter procurement decisions.

We’ll start with a quick recap of the key financial statements, before moving into the practical use of financial ratios. Through interactive exercises, you’ll practise applying ratios and discover what they reveal about a supplier’s performance, stability, and risks.

You’ll also see how financial evaluation isn’t just useful when choosing new suppliers – it plays a vital role in ongoing supplier relationship management, helping organisations avoid disruptions, negotiate better, and build resilience.

By the end of the session, you’ll understand:

  • The basics of financial statements and how they link to procurement
  • How to calculate and interpret key ratios
  • What ratios can (and cannot) tell us about a supplier’s health
  • Why financial assessment matters for procurement and organisational success
  • How financial evaluation adds real value to procurement decisions

Join us to make financials simple, practical, and directly relevant to your role in procurement and supply.
