LUPC is owned by its members, and everything we do is always with our members foremost in our mind. To ensure we are held to account and continue to reflect your needs, we have a formal governance structure in place. This governance consists of our LUPC Board, who direct the strategic leadership of the organisation, then our Executive committee who set the operational priorities of the consortium.
Please consider applying for one of five vacancies which will shortly become available on our executive committee. These vacancies are either due to current members having served their full maximum three-year term of membership or due to an Executive Committee member leaving the employment of the LUPC member.
Who can apply:
All Executive Committee members are Directors or Heads of Procurement drawn from our membership and democratically elected by the membership. Current committee members can stand again for re-election.
What does the role of an Executive Committee member entail?
- A commitment to attend meetings 4 times a year (January, April, July and October).
- An undertaking to review the Executive Committee papers in advance of the meeting.
- A willingness to contribute during those meetings.
- An interest in the work of the consortium and a want to be an advocate for the organisation.
What are the benefits?
Discussions at the Executive Committee meetings are broad and cover all aspects of LUPC’s operational activity. They are interesting and enjoyable meetings where open and challenging discussion is encouraged. It is an opportunity to share your knowledge with LUPC and others on the group, as well as learn too. You will have the opportunity to feed into the development and improvement of framework procurement activity and contribute ideas and thoughts on events and resources which would be useful to members.
What do I have to do?
Attached are the terms of reference of the group and also the detailed election process.
If you are interested in applying, please read the attached documents to ensure you meet the criteria, then reply to this email, confirming you wish to stand.
Multiple applications will trigger an election. I will then be in touch asking you for some brief information confirming why you wish to be appointed and what experience you can provide to the group and therefore our membership. We will be able to help you with drafting this and it will be used to ask members to vote.
The closing date for expressions of interest is 17 September 2024.
Should you have any queries or wish to discuss informally, please contact Bindi Sandhu.
