The LUPC team have switched their default search engine to Ecosia, which is a social enterprise donating 80% of its profits to not-for-profit organisations that focus on deforestation.  Their strapline is “Plant trees while you search the web” and they use the profit they make from searches to plant trees where they are needed the most.  Have a look at their website for more information.
