We held two very well attended meetings with our members last week; our first ever quarterly Operational Procurement Network (OPN) meeting and our monthly Heads of Procurement (HoP) meeting covering Brexit related issues. These meetings are a commitment to our members to provide forums where they can connect with their peers across the LUPC membership, learn from each other and develop within their roles by tapping into the experience within the groups.

In the OPN meeting we covered how to get the most from LUPC membership as well as the value of collaboration. This was followed by discussion within the group of key topical items proposed by attendees in advance of the meeting. Future meetings will use breakout discussion rooms to enable conversation in small groups. If you are in an operational procurement role at one of our member institutions, please join us for the next one on 26 January by registering here.

Over 35 heads of procurement joined us for our monthly HoP meeting on 27 November. Legal Services provider, Mills & Reeve, gave a very engaging presentation on all you need to know about Brexit related procurement matters. This covered an overview of important changes along with a Q&A session to address attendees’ concerns. The notes and presentation slides from this meeting will be circulated to the main purchasing contacts at our member institutions by the end of this week. Register for the next Heads of Procurement meeting on 29 January.
