Three LUPC members are finalists of this year's Green Gown Awards UK & Ireland!  Congratulations to: the University of Greenwich, University of the Arts London (UAL) and Goldsmiths, University of London.

The Green Gown awards celebrate innovative and inspiring sustainability work taking place in universities and colleges to create a brighter future for their students

Iain Patton, CEO at EAUC- the Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education says “UK and Irish universities and colleges have turned Covid 19 challenges into opportunities and ensured that every change is a change for sustainability. A reset of our economic and social foundations is happening and the Green Gown Awards are all the more important to inspire and scale change for sustainability.”

The three LUPC member finalists have been shortlisted for the following:

  • The University of Greenwich under the category of ‘Benefitting Society’ for their Un/Archived textiles project which addresses and promotes sustainable consumption and production patterns
  • The University of Arts London under the category of ‘Research with Impact’ for their Sustainable Fashion Glossary which is a reference tool to help usher in a new era of understanding of fashion, based on a respect for and valuing of the earth and all who live within it.
  • Goldsmiths, University of London under the category ‘Sustainability Champion: Student Category Supporter’ for a student’s amazing work on a project called the Eco-Haven.
